Teacher Caught Giving 16 year-old Student Oral Sex By Principal

A Westfield High School teacher has been charged with sexual abuse of a child.

Shannon Kay Hrozek, 42, of Houston, was arrested after an assistant principal entered her 10th-grade English classroom after school on Thursday and found her performing oral sex on a 16-year-old male student, court records show.

The assistant principal used a master key to enter the classroom after a janitor informed him that a teacher and a student were in the room with the lights off.

Court documents state that Hrozek had asked the student to come to her classroom after school to "finish talking."

Spring ISD officials could not be reached for comment late Monday.

Hrozek was released on $50,000 bail and is due in court Wednesday.

Don't mean to be the discussion nanny here, but...

While I'll grant that this is far from the worst case of child sex abuse there could be, I'm not sure it's 'funny'. And, to tread into controversial waters, this would probably be viewed with less levity if it was a man performing oral sex on a girl, or a man performing oral sex on a boy. Still, I don't find this situation to be the best of basis of lots of gufaws.

I'm speaking here as someone who has been locked in that room with a teacher, and not liking it one bit. Granted, I was quite a bit younger, and the teacher was a man, so it was probably worse than what happened here.

I'm not without humor, and I don't mean to be some uber-moralist (and again one wonders how bad this really was for the kid--though it was incredibly wrong of the teacher), let's just keep in mind that overall this is a pretty serious subject.
