It only took me two months, a ridiculous amount of time and money spent and an inordinate amount of stress, anger, ect. and SIX trips to the DMV.

But I finally got my NY driver's liscense.

That is all.

3. Oh, I've been driving the whole time. I was trying to transfer my FL liscense to a NY one.

The problem is that you need 17 forms of ID just to be able to get a NY ID.

And because it took so ridiculously long to get through the beauracracy and crap and get everything I needed, I had to renew my FL liscense to stay on the road because it had expired. So the 4th time I went to the DMV I found out that my FL liscense was TOO NEW. I needed to be able to prove that I'd been driving for at least 6 months to do a transfer liscense.

And of course, the Flordia DMV wouldn't just fax my driving record over. I had to make a written request and pay them 16 bucks to send it by mail as slowly as possible.

So I finally got it in the mail the other day, and I went to the DMV for the fifth and what I hoped was the final time.

And their computers were down.
