Calling all DU dogs and cats!
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 04:36 PM by chookie
Is your pet frustrated by his or her inability to participate in protests against the wackos who have seized control of our beloved country and who are systematically dismantling our democracy and plundering its treasure? At least my Marigold has an outlet for her political activism (she shits on RIchard Mellon Scaife's lawn.)

I am currently working on a few political Flash animations -- one will deal with Pennsylvania's Most Cherished Asshole, Rick Santorum, and the other will skewer Frist (R-Cat Killer).

I think it would be extra pithy if instead of uses random images of random dogs and cats, to put in images of dogs and cats of members of DU.

None of the images of the dogs and cats will be demeaned or disrespected in any way; they will be used quite innocently -- although if you send me pictures of Santorum, I cannot guarantee the same :-)

Also -- if you can help me collect talking points on either of these two facist creeps to present -- I would be grateful again.

I know what a kick I get out of seeing my work turning up everywhere (I do the "Bush or Chimps?") -- so I thought DUers might enjoy having their pet have a cameo in a political video.

Thanks!! This will be fun.

Of course, there will be a gala premiere of each here on DU, and I will contact all who participated in order to make sure you get to see them.

1. I'm in!
How do you want to receive the photos? I've got two great attacking cat pictures, one jumping directly into the camera.

8. That will be great!
It would be nice to have some cats avenging their brothers and sisters in this animation!

Thanks for helping -- send them to my email address if you like, or PM me if you have another idea.

13. How about if you take them off my cat site?
On this page you'll find Cocoa playing w/ a string. Remove the string and (as some other Photoshopping DUers have found) the possibilities are endless.

Here, you'll find a thumbnail (second one down on the right) of our gentlest boy, Petey. You can get a good-sized image from that page.

I didn't just post the pictures because they're pretty big. Since I have lousy 49.2kbps dial-up, I try to be nice to other dial-up users.

Have fun!

16. That's not what I heard
He's WAY too tough to be an Anarchist.

I hear he got kicked out of an Al Qaeda training camp for being too nasty. Then he blew it up.

If Fluffy obtains nukes -- NO ONE will be spared.

4. My dog
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 04:16 PM by MAlibdem
Sheeba (German Sheperd/Mastiff mix)

Funny, I only have this picture because I had to make a Lost Dog poster. She ran into the back door, shattered the window on the door, cut her foot in the glass, and ran away into the woods. She was outside in the 2000 acre wildlife preserve across the street for 26 hours. She slept in below zero temperatures by digging a hole into the side of a hill (with her injured feet). She was still bleeding when we found her (we found her by following her blood trail), but all she needed was an IV, no blood transfusion. Her stitches came out yesterday!

Edit: clarity

11. YIKES
The poor creature! And poor you, too! That a dreadful experience!

Thank heavens she is all right!

She must be one tough girl. My little pommie -- she thinks she couldn't survive if she can't sleep on the electric blanket. There are dogs, and then there are dogs....

This is Jasper, he is exceptionally friendly.

This is Eddy, he is the polar opposite of Jasper. He's very evil.

27. Here are some. What sort of photos are you looking for?
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 09:23 PM by Jen6
Portraits? Expressions? Action?

This is Bessie, a yellow dog Democrat if ever there was one (she belongs to some dear progressive friends, and is one of my "Godpuppies")

This is Miro; less brains than a turnip, which of course means that he would beat Shrub in a battle of wits.

This is Puck, who would leap at the chance to use his ever-so-sharp baby teeth and claws on Mr. Frist.

And lastly, this is Oberon, who is generally the most gentle, soft hearted, and sensitive of kittens

Yet the mention of Frists name fills him with disgust

Irritation

And maybe even darker thoughts

My beloved kitty Peewee passed away last year. Here are a few photos in memory of my dearest "fur kid".

And a few more of those that are still with us (odd ones for odd uses, if need be).

and one extra kitten pic; oberon at three months

29. You can use any or all of my babies
I lost Kira and Dax this past year--Dax, in Williams Arizona just a year ago, when I was moving cross country, he got out of the car, and we never found him.

His sister, Kira, got out of the house in October when the plumbers were working, and never came home. I miss them dearly. :(

However, the other four are still around, and a new one, Amanda, who I adopted when I lost one of my closest friends in June. I don't have any pix of Amanda yet, though.

30. Last year was a tough year for pet owners
everywhere, it seems. My mom lost both her dog and one of her cats, a good friend (and fellow DUer) lost her 18 year old Border Collie, and I lost my 15 year old cat Peewee (see previous post).I'm so sorry for your loss, Hyphenate. I truly know how difficult it can be to lose a beloved fur child.

On a separate note; it looks like you also have a Maine Coon! How old is Garibaldi, and how big is he now?

That's my little girl Althea (aka Boogerhead) pouncing on her little dog brother Gomez. She's really quite graceful for a dog built like a WWI-era tank.
