So my insurance company and my employer have found a new way
to make more money for Wal Mart?

Okay, my insurance now only pays full benefits at Walmart Pharmacies

Walmart pharmacies have $4 generic drugs already.

My co pay for generic drugs at Walmart is $5 :wtf:

So I guess every generic drug sold, a $1 goes to someone.

:grr:

Who's the genius who made this plan available?

The advantage is for formulary drugs that are still brand, they are a $20 co pay which can be good if it is an expensive drug.

So I'm not complaining about it too much, just thought it was a strange thing...

Oh and this just started 1/1/08

:hi:

4. Then don't use your insurance for those $4 drugs
 Are you sure you read it right? Why would your co-pay be higher than the regular cost?

Anytime my pharmacy charges less that my co-pay, they only charge me their price. My co-pays in the formulary are $10/40/60. I went and had a new script filled last night that fell into the middle category and it only cost me $35. But in your case we are talking about WalMart, aren't we?

I would still fill my scripts anywhere but WalMart, even if it meant paying more somewhere else. They are trying to corner the market in everything. I can see really, really poor folks really needing to take advantage of the $4 scripts but I would hope people who could afford it would bypass giving them that much more power in the marketplace.
