1. He was the lead singer of Led Zepplin during their early years.
He helped write much of the music (not the lyrics) on Pink Floyd's album "The Wall."

2. He singlehandedly reunited The Beatles after John's death.
His style and ability was said by many experts to exceed Lennon's efforts in every single way.

8. Honestly,
"It Would Take a Strong, Strong Man" or "Cry for Help." I had the first one taped off of the radio on to a cassette and used to play it over and over when I was about five years old. haha

besides the disco pop one that gets Rick Roll'd.

When I fall In Love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwLL8mBkDxQ&feature=user

Cry For Help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfRfPon9vmU

It Would Take A Strong Strong Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmgB7qVh0-w

edit: Of all the mainstream crooners, his is the voice I pay attention to. Michael Buble, Josh Groban seem to recycled to me because Rick was the first and he does do material that suits him.
