I am going out to dancing class.
My random New Year's resolution: learn ballroom dancing. This should be, um, interesting.

1. hell yes!
you'll love it, it's a lot of fun. If you can hear a beat and know your left from your right, you'll do fine. I'm kind of rusty but it was a great class.

5. Ha. Have fun!
It's a great activity and for a lot of folk dances, you don't even need a partner, just show up.

I can waltz and I took several swing dance lessons which were fun.

Dancing is really fun if you are shy, since you don't have to worry about keeping up a conversation while you dance.

Enjoy yourself! :D

It is a shame you can't talk your husband into it, but if he doesn't mind then go yourself! I recommend it. :hi:

It's not my style either. But dancing is a lot more fun. I'd say you should go beyond wondering and try it. :hi:

21. Coordinated? Moi?
The instructor is going "slow... slow... quick quick slow..." and making it all look so natural, and my feet are just being so uncooperative. I didn't notice anybody else having trouble balancing except me.

34. It's best if both partners participate.
Kinda like that other thing. And equally difficult to coordinate.

Seriously, if you can step forwards and step backwards and step to the left and to the right, then you can do it, because that's all I did tonight.

Although I seemed to have trouble counting to four. :dunce:

35. Laughing.
I should try it, yes? I get my worries from a dance instructor I knew who tried to take me out on the floor with all kinds of slides and glides and other movements that my legs weren't accustomed to, and the next week I suffered. But maybe if I knew what I was doing...

You know, I think I'm going to look into it. And thanks.

36. Sure, why not?
If you can find a class for beginners then there won't be anything hard at all.

Although stepping forwards twice and then to the left and so on, in time, with a partner, is difficult enough when you're a beginner. But there wasn't anything physically demanding. The folks there seemed to range from their twenties to their sixties.

27. When I was driving out there I was thinking I couldn't believe I was doing this.
Then I forgot about all that when I couldn't find the place at first. My ambition is just once to drive somewhere I've never been before without having to turn around once. ;)

Then I got all overwhelmed when I walked in and found forty or fifty people there, all of whom seemed to be in social groups already. :scared:

But then we all walked on to the dance floor and started learning the steps, on our own at first. That was okay. Then they told us to take our partners if we had them, and the instructor paired me up with a girl the right height for me who had also come alone.

(She was really pretty. I lucked out).

:loveya:

Ballroom dancing is quite the skill. I have the grace of a 3 legged hippo. Therefore, not a skill I could ever possess.
