That can get messy too.

Although it's fun to bounce smart-assness off of each other... I had a roommate I could do that with for a while, and now that I moved up here I started dating a girl who's at least as quick as me, if not quicker. :) I'm kinda hoping it works out with her just of that.

Well, that and she's REALLY cute. :P

47. Nope, blondish.
Which is odd, because I usually go for brunettes. :P But in her case... well, let's just say she doesn't photograph well. So when I started talking to her online the pictures I saw didn't do her justice. She had a certain cuteness to her, but it wasn't like 'holy crap I want a piece of that', just somewhat cute. But she was really cool (in the geeky sort of way that I like) and smart and we had enough in common to have a starting point, so we set up a date.

I almost got cold feet right beforehand because the day before I found out she was a *shudder*... Mac user. I couldn't believe I couldn't tell. I mean, I was talking to her ON MY COMPUTER and I couldn't tell that she was talking back on a Mac. Can we say compatability issues? Still, it was too late to cancel the date, so I showed up anyway.

When she came down the stairs though, it took all my self-control to keep my jaw from smacking into the ground. I was NOT expecting her to be that cute. Thankfully, being in chorus for four years in high school and in the string section in orchestra for 6 years gave me plenty of experience in how to talk to hot girls without making an ass of myself. :P

The Portait of the Counselor (INFJ)

The Counselor Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in reaching their goals, and enterprising and attentive in their interpersonal roles. Counselors focus on human potentials, think in terms of ethical values, and come easily to decisions. The small number of this type (little more than 2 percent) is regrettable, since Counselors have an unusually strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others and genuinely enjoy helping their companions. Although Counsleors tend to be private, sensitive people, and are not generally visible leaders, they nevertheless work quite intensely with those close to them, quietly exerting their influence behind the scenes with their families, friends, and colleagues. This type has great depth of personality; they are themselves complicated, and can understand and deal with complex issues and people.

Counselors can be hard to get to know. They have an unusually rich inner life, but they are reserved and tend not to share their reactions except with those they trust. With their loved ones, certainly, Counselors are not reluctant to express their feelings, their face lighting up with the positive emotions, but darkening like a thunderhead with the negative. Indeed, because of their strong ability to take into themselves the feelings of others, Counselors can be hurt rather easily by those around them, which, perhaps, is one reason why they tend to be private people, mutely withdrawing from human contact. At the same time, friends who have known a Counselor for years may find sides emerging which come as a surprise. Not that they are inconsistent; Counselors value their integrity a great deal, but they have intricately woven, mysterious personalities which sometimes puzzle even them.

Counselors have strong empathic abilities and can become aware of another's emotions or intentions -- good or evil -- even before that person is conscious of them. This "mind-reading" can take the form of feeling the hidden distress or illnesses of others to an extent which is difficult for other types to comprehend. Even Counselors can seldom tell how they came to penetrate others' feelings so keenly. Furthermore, the Counselor is most likely of all the types to demonstrate an ability to understand psychic phenomena and to have visions of human events, past, present, or future. What is known as ESP may well be exceptional intuitive ability-in both its forms, projection and introjection. Such supernormal intuition is found frequently in the Counselor, and can extend to people, things, and often events, taking the form of visions, episodes of foreknowledge, premonitions, auditory and visual images of things to come, as well as uncanny communications with certain individuals at a distance.

Mohandas Gandhi, Sidney Poitier, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jane Goodall, Emily Bronte, Sir Alec Guiness, Carl Jung, Mary Baker Eddy, Queen Noor are examples of the Counselor Idealist (INFJ).

54. ISTJ, give 'em hell Harry and me.
Inspector Guardians look carefully and thoroughly at the people and institutions around them. Making up perhaps as much as ten percent of the general population, Inspectors are characterized by decisiveness in practical affairs, are the guardians of institutions, and if only one adjective could be selected, "superdependable" would best describe them. Whether at home or at work, Inspectors are nothing if not dependable, particularly when it comes to examining the people and products they are responsible for-quietly seeing to it that uniform quality is maintained, and that those around them uphold certain standards of attitude and conduct.

Best Myers-Briggs to be. The other good one is INTP.

Generally Pissed Off But Not Without Humor

Actually, I took the assessment in the middle of a really nasty divorce. VERY depressed at the time and it was taken as part of a class. Really dreaded the whole event. The results were weird. Almost right down the mid-line in all categories. I burst into tears.

Prof and a classmate were taken aback and asked what was wrong. I blubbered: "I don't even have a PERSONALITY anymore!"

Prof looked at the print out and explained it meant I was extremely fortunate and could draw well from all aspects which would actually make me more resilient and less brittle in confronting problems.

Who knew?

Can't remember the type classification and won't dig the thing outta the closet. But since there was no strong leanings in any one direction, let's just say I am a dandy referee ;)

84. I always have problems with that question
"Would you prefer to go to a party, or stay home and read a book?" It's on almost every personality test - including this one - in some form or another.

Which party????? Which book?????

Ann Coulter or Introduction to Economics vs. MoveOn fundraiser? Party wins.
Kurt Vonnegut or Harry Potter vs. Trendy Disco? Do you even have to ask?

On average, I've found that there are more good books than interesting parties, but my own mileage varies.

I tested as INTJ with a weak J, but the INTP descriptions fit better,
one letter really makes a difference, INTJs get more work done and are
scarier looking, INTPs are supposedly just as smart but goofier, supposedly.
