DISNEY restaurant bans children
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Children are no longer welcome at Walt Disney World's swankiest restaurant.

Victoria and Albert's in the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa says children under ten years old are no longer welcome.

The restaurant's general manager says based on research and feedback, it was the right move to make for a better dining experience for adults.

Victoria and Albert's has won AAA's prestigious five-diamond rating. But its new policy is still a rarity in the restaurant business.

2. I'm okay with this, actually.
There are so many choices in Disney for families and there are some folks who go there to get married and would like an evening away from screaming babies.

Now, I have to go get my

4. What are they going to do, ask for ID?
I don't know many 12 or 13 year olds who carry around ID. So, if you've got a young looking 11 or 12 year old, what are they going to do?

12. i would still let kids come in
but only with leashes and muzzles.

or create a slop trough near the Dumpster that kids can eat out of. they can dub it the "solid waste stream learnatorium." that way it can be educational. fill it with chicken fingers and nachos. and drunk teenagers in disney character costumes dancing around the whole mess.

26. And what do adults want to do in the restaurant?
Unless it's "touch the Little Mermaid inappropriately, just like how the 9 year old children were doing", I expect that restaurant is about to lose a lot of business.

With many Disney characters being lame in the first place, I never figured out how he got to be famous...

30. Hooters has a children's menu.
Hooters characterizes itself as a neighborhood place, not a typical family restaurant. Sixty-eight percent of customers are male, most between the ages of 25-54. Hooters does not market itself to families, but they do patronize the restaurants. Ten percent of the parties we serve have children in them. Hooters is in the hospitality business and provides the best possible service to anyone coming through the door. For this reason, the chain offers a children's menu.

35. As the mother of a 5 year old daughter
and in a family who goes to Walt Disney World as often as we can afford it, I have no problem with Disney banning children under 10 from Victoria and Albert's Restaurant. It is a wonderful place to vacation with a child, but occassionally you want to get away from kids. On several occassions while there we have gotten a babysitter and gone out to dinner. We have never done V&As (way too expensive) but we have gone to some of the nicer restaurants either in EPCOT or the deluxe hotels and it is very nice not to have to deal with my tired, cranky kid and to be able to focus on my husband for a couple of hours. I've noticed on the last trip or two that a number of the nicer table service restaurants are being patronized by more adults without children. It's kind of nice.
