1. Oh wow, you are very close by the Grumpys...here's my question..
Have you ever walked out on those little islands connected by bridges on the lake there? I have always wanted to do this.

Good to know I've got neighbors on DU. We are in St.Clair Shores

4. The Air Force currently has my ass in Virginia
But I'm from Detroit. East side. Right smack by Harper Woods.

I used the "Y" because it sounds obscure to non-Michiganders and shares the same time zone as Hampton Va. (Where I'm at)

But to answer your question. No, I haven't. Sounds nice though.

2. Do you think an English major is a good idea?
I've been having some angst about being an English major. I think I know what I'm going to do to make myself employable, but I'm not very excited about it. What do you think?

7. Joining the Royal Army is a great way British citizenship
But most folks don't start out as Majors. They're commissioned as Lieutenants first, or as they say "Leftenants".

Get ready to do alot of goosestepping though.

22. I had orders to go to Langley
but I left the Air Force instead. What I finally realized was that after being an Air Force brat and enlisted in the Air Force, I was 22 years old and had never lived anywhere longer than two years and two months. Enough already!

13. Mr Scorpio, answer this, if you can.
My boss is an extremely ambitious workaholic lawyer who grew up in upstate New York, lives eight miles from the office in Washington, DC, and drives a Volvo station wagon. I, her secretary, am content as a drone, grew up in Southern California, live in rural Maryland 35 miles from the office, and drive a Toyota Tercel.

Why does my boss expect that if she can get to work on snow days, I ought to be able to get to work on snow days? And why is she such a bitch about it for days afterward if I call in to say, "I will not be in because I will not be safe on these roads"?

17. The answer is in your question
She's a bitch. I imagine that she's in touch with her inner-bitchiness.

This has cancelled out any requisite level of common sense.

Ask her this: She's a lawyer, right? If you have an accident on the way to work and you get hurt, what kind of worker's comp is available? And if there's a problem, can she recommend a good lawyer?

That should shut her ass up.

28. Well, keep this on the QT
But we're planning to tie Andy the Right Wing Republican to a post and slap him with wet towels for six or eight hours. Of course, if this gets out, he won't show up -- and what fun would that be?
I'm kidding, of course. FUNDAY is totally non-violent (no fights in nine years -- that's pretty cool) and Andy was nice enough to let Davsand hotrod his very cool Camaro around town last year. I suspect he took the car to the detailer to get the LIBERAL GERMS out afterwards, but it was still a damned fine gesture.
John
Oh yeah -- he bought the car used. The previous owner was gay and had a rainbow triangle sticker on the back bumper -- the meaning of which Andy was totally oblivious to for, like, a year before someone explained it to him. He was wondering why all the nice, handsome young men were honking and waving at him -- and I'd be damned if I was going to explain it to him.
Andy is getting more human by the day (really, he is), but it's a long, long haul dealing with the guy. I'll be happy if I can just get him to sit out this election.
