My kid
I guess he is a man now (19) sent me a piece of guitar music that he had recorded at home on MP3.

Can I upload it to DU. and how?

2. Thanks - I'll try that
He's tone deaf singing musically but he writes songs for 3 bands right now, trying to get one band out of it. I told him when he was 15 and seemed interested in music to join a church choir (Like Sting and Keith Richards) but all he was interested in then was Kurt Cobain and power chords.
Now he's thinking of taking singing lessons.

I have a secret I won't tell him.

I'm thinking adding some of Shakespeare's Sonnets to his background music
Could win a Grammy:)

3. 19 isn't the measure of a man...
responsibility is... and I have a 19 yr old and I'm still waiting...

although he's making great strides! :P

Upload it to You Tube, as indie said. Let's hear the imagination!

My oldest son posts all his music he writes on the Music threads of My Space.

5. Ah... yeah... I know that for video's but you can post any audio links...

Upload the music to your computer and then Upload it to You Tube and then...

post it here (it's easier to hear on You Tube)

But the DU You Tube "rule" only applies to the DU You Tube 'political' forum...

You can still post ANY musical links here at DU!

You Tube is mostly video's. Does your son have a video?

If not, then just post the link to the song and forget You Tube!

;)

6. The Measure of a Man
IF

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!
