Aerosmith & Cheap Trick coming to town; am I back in high school again?
Hey, it's the '70s again! Where's my leisure suit?

1. You know, that new Cheap Trick CD is one of their better ones!
Believe it or not -- called "Special One;" first track is kinda bad, but after that it is pretty super.

But I was never big on Aerosmith after Toys In The Attic.

2. Heard Steve Tyler lately?

The voice is shot. Time to retire.

3. I also heard that the new Cheap Trick album was pretty good...
The best in a long time for them. I haven't gotten around to getting it yet, but probably will sooner or later.

I think "Rocks" the follow-up to "Toys in the Attic" was still a pretty solid album for Aerosmith, but many here have said the same thing that you did about them. Another album of theirs that I think was pretty good is "Done With Mirrors". It wasn't bad at all.

4. I always liked Aerosmith.
I did think that they sold out on their last album and on the Armageddon song. Also when they decided to do that Super Bowl collaboration with NSuck and Brittany. However Their next album is supposed to be a blues album. It should be quite a relief from the more top 40 oriented stuff of their last album. I did not watch the entertainment stuff during the Super Bowl, but Aerosmith was the only act I liked that performed before and during the Super Bowl. Though I saw them in concert back in 1999 and enjoyed it. Steven Tyler sang very well. Don't flame me for this.

5. I saw Aerosmith three times in concert
and they rocked the shit out of the place everytime. Good show, different sets and stages all three times. Would see them again if they came back to my state

6. Aerosmith is a band that divides the music thread junkies here like
none I've ever seen. I don't have anything against them whatsoever. I still think Steven Tyler has one of the best rock'n'roll voices of all time.

I saw them last year in San Antonio, Texas and they rocked. They played a set of that bluesey stuff you're talking about. It was a nice change from the norm.

7. Are they on the same bill?
If not, I'd strongly recommend checking out Cheap Trick. They still bring the rock. Aerosmith, OTOH, can bite my schween.
