What should Lynne order from the Martini Bar tonight?
Normally I get either a Cosmo or Applitini, but I'm looking for recommendations from the gang:

Please advise - my prefernces are Good Vodka (I love Gray Goose) and something slightly sweet!!

1. I bought this blue raspberry mix
and it goes really well in a martini glass... mmm, would have one now if I didn't have kids to deal with.

I'm so thrilled that martinis have branched out; can't stand plain martinis, but I love the glassware. Strange, huh?

Gimlet?

It's a little big, but you could put it in a martini glass.

2. My two choices are:
Edited on Fri Feb-06-04 05:17 PM by nothingshocksmeanymo
a chocolate martini or a dirty martini. Chocolate is yummy with creme de cocoa and sugar rim....dirty is with olive juice but you have to qualify that you want it with vodka IIRC

(I'm a Ketel One fan myself)

4. Here are a couple of fun suggestions
Raspberry gimlet straight up
(your choice of premium vodka, roses lime and a touch of chambord)

French Martini
(premium vodka, chambord, splash of pineapple, splash of sour, splash of champagne)

Godiva Chocolate Martini
(grey goose vanilla with godiva white chocolate & dk chocolate liquours & a splash of baileys for creaminess)

15. I'm 24, bud.
I've been drinking way longer. That's what's great about growing up with your mom owning a liquor store! I've had a little bit of everything.

6. You should get a martini.
Rinse the glass with vermouth, pour the vermouth out, then fill up with cold gin.

16. Dry? I don't understand that concept in a drink...
Drinks are supposed to refresh...not make you more thirsty. They dry out my mouth...ick.

20. You've got that right!
Although it isn't the weekend for me quite yet! It's officially the part of the week that I want to bang my head on my desk. Only 1.5 hours to weekend, though.

22. Got with a vesper
not necessarily sweet, not like a poorly made cosmo can be or an appletini is, but it's not sour or anything.

Very nice, very refreshing, and this is a drink that really deserves to comes back and get its spot in the limelight again so that gross things will disappear.

Or have make a Maiden's Prayer or Jasmine, but use the vodka instead of gin.
