1. I don't think Tommy Thayer should be wearing Ace's makeup.
Paul Stanley has had too much plastic surgery.

Gene needs to shave his head and start over with fresh hair.

4. Besides "Beth" I have never really cared for them.
I think they may be the most over rated band in history.

7. "Detroit Rock City"
Their "breakout" studio album, "Destroyer," is the one that I think has kept the hype afloat for the three decades that followed it. Yeah, "Alive" was huge, but without an immediate studio follow-up, it would have been another "Frampton Comes Alive" and that's it.

Kiss owes as much to producer / songwriter Bob Ezrin for "Destroyer" as they do to their own abilities. He co-wrote all of the memorable tracks (including "Beth," but not the concert stand-by "God Of Thunder," which has a sole writing credit to Paul Stanley).

"Detroit Rock City" was Kiss's riff-heavy arena rock anthem. It's my personal favorite out of the entire catalog. "Do You Love Me" is also pretty irresistible.

I didn't care for a lot of the more pop-oriented stuff that came with the departures of Frehley and Criss. 1992's "Revenge" was a bold statement and a deliberate turn away from the top 40 stuff into heavier territory, but the next album, "Carnival Of Souls," was a lame attempt (championed by Gene Simmons) to crank out a Metallica / Soundgarden / Alice In Chains sound-alike. Then it was time for "Unplugged" and the inevitable make-up reunion, which flamed out amongst more acrimony and in-fighting and resolved itself into Simmons and Stanley touring in makeup with Thayer and Singer in order to keep the cash cow well-fed.

15. Personally, I don't like looking at anyone when they break out - makes them too self-conscious.
I mean, how would YOU like it - someone just staring at your zits. Really.

29. You have a lot of nerve, you and your Kiss mercenaries. You'll do anything for some
lip action. And I refute the charge of being a "wise-ass." Someone told me just the other day
that I was, in fact, the total opposite. So: are dumb-asses allowed?

He is actually a pretty cool, laid back and funny guy; I was pleasantly surprised.

We even met his Mom....neat.

27. Same here.
They claim that they wanted Bob Ezrin to produce "Psycho Circus," the make-up comeback album, but his schedule wouldn't permit it. Even though he also had a hand in "The Elder" (perhaps their biggest flop), he gave them one more classic, 1992's "Revenge."

I'm also a fan of the original Aerosmith, pre-Desmond Child. They not only hooked up with him but Dianne Warren as well ("I Don't Want To Miss A Thing")...

Aerosmith and KISS both have ample proof in their recorded legacy that if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

28. A couple of songs...it all comes down to a couple of songs...
In many ways, they do suck. But there are a couple of songs that set them apart from, let's say, Poison or Winger...bands that suck on every level, including 100% of their songs.

There were a couple of seasons of Scooby Doo where everyone who was anyone guest starred, and that sounds familiar.

33. ...they have earned their place in history
...but not in my music collection. At risk of acting like a snob, I never cared for any of their songs. I went (VERY RELUCTANTLY), to see them at the Millenium Bash at BC Place Stadium and was far more entertained by the crowd. Not my cup of tea I guess.
