I am GETTING SHIT DONE!
I installed task management software OmniFocus on my Mac and it's helping me get shit done! I got my lab work done, got to the post office, placed some important orders online, took care of some paperwork at the office, and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom tonight!

Tomorrow I have four errand destinations lined up with shopping lists.

I have a busy few days clearing up piles of paper and lining up tasks, and a busy January doing them all, but I have hope I can actually get on top of this mess I call a "life."

1. Is it
the version with the hand that reaches out of the computer and smacks you across the face if you spend too much time on the pc?

Because frankly, unless software does something like that, I don't think it would help *me* get shit done. :D

Congrats to you, though! :bounce:

4. Great feature request
I'll have them add it to the next version. After one hour on the computer, you get a loud buzz and a dialog box that says, "QUIT READING DU AND GET SOME SHIT DONE!"

They're just jealous, Ellen. Me? I worship production

3. Talk to me about this "OmniFocus." I don't think the Ritalin is getting it done
anymore, if the last few months are anything to judge by.

I can use all the help I can get.

5. It's supposed to incorporate the GTD
("Getting Things Done") methodology of this one David Allen chap. http://www.davidco.com/
(Note: Not the wide tie-wearing Dave Allen who had a BBC comedy show in the 60s)

It's a bit more fully-featured to-do listmaker. You can group things by "projects" (goals with subtasks), then add actions (little things you have to do to achieve the goal), and to each action assign a "context" (I think of it as "where.") You can assign due dates and estimated times. You can switch views between projects and contexts.

An enthusiastic user has written an Apple Script to clone projects. This is useful for me because any bug fix at work follows a fixed series of steps. Cloning a project for each ticket I have to keep track of (whether mine or those of the two yo-yos I supervise) enables me to check off tasks as they are done.

Omni Group's software is the bomb, generally. I've used OmniGraffle and OmniOutliner before.
