My beloved Buddah crossed the Rainbow bridge today
Edited on Thu Dec-27-07 06:00 PM by DainBramaged

He was 13 years, 6 months, and 11 days old. Since my surgery, he had begun to decline. Last weekend he stopped eating and began sleeping 23 hours a day. Christmas day I realized it was his time. His breathing had become rapid and he did not want to go outside.

He was the smartest dog who ever owned me. He knew a huge vocabulary, he smiled when he was happy, and he sat next to me on the couch every night, head on my shoulder. And most mornings he would crawl into my twin bed and lie next to me when he needed to go out. He could hold his business for two days, and never made a mess of anything.

He didn't suffer. When I brought him to the vet, we put his blanket down for him, he laid down with his head on his paws and without complaint, and went to sleep till I see him again. He knew it was time, I am sure of it.

Of all my bebbins over the years, I will miss him the most.

Rest in Peace my beloved friend

I know your pain. When my sweet doxie died she took a part of my heart with her. But, rest assured your beloved will always be "alive" in your heart and mind til you meet up with her again. Peace

25. my dear DainBramaged...
I am weeping at your loss...

I remember when my own dog died...

She was also a big part of my life...

And every day she was in pain...

It was time...

But I cried that day, and every day for weeks...

They take our hearts with them when they die, don't they?

My deepest condolences on your loss...

I hope your sweet memories will help you deal with it...

27. I'll cry for a long time my dear friend
He was the best. He made me laugh and made me happy. He never left my side or let me get out of his sight. He slept by the front door and at the foot of the bed. And he waited till he was told when it came to eating and treats.

Once in a lifetime. Once in a lifetime, And I had the privilege.

Thank you for sharing.

31. I had to take a few minutes to compose myself ...
... before offering my sincere condolences.

We lost our beloved dog, Faust, earlier this year - in much the same way; we had to have the vet help him along his journey to the other side, when it became obvious that he was too sick to go on.

Let your memories sustain you, until you are reunited with your friend.

My Elglish Bull Terrier who I adopted almost 2 years ago who will be 14 in March (I hope). She misses Buddah terribly. She keeps going from room to room and goes outside maybe 20 times during the day hoping to find him. It is the third time in her long life she has lost a companion.

40. I'm so sorry !!!! That 3rd photo reminds me so much of my
rottie Tarn,

I know you did the right thing and you will forever miss your pal. He looks well loved and nurtured.

Tarn's life ended in June of this year at 6.5 years of age. I miss that big guy SO much.

Tarn had declined so fast, and he was such a big dog, the Vet came to the house and put him to sleep under the trees in the yard ..

here's the pic of Tarn with his baby .. I guess that's what your 3rd pic reminded me of.

 for you ... again, I'm so sorry.

45. I kept his "bubbie" he never hurt it, he slept with it and took it everywhere
a day didn't go by when he didn't have it in his mouth when he went out. He had it almost 5 years. When he began to ignore it a few weeks ago, I knew something was wrong.

He was the best there was.

I do believe one of the tragedies of being human is that we must face the departure of our animal companions so often.

We mourn the loss of so many pets, but we still open our homes and our hearts to them.

He looks like he was a terrific dog. You gave him love and good home. Lucky dog.
