I want dreadlocks.
I don't know why, but I do.

1. Me, too.
However:
1) I have red hair and I'm not convinced I could pull it off;
2) I'm not sure they'd be practical for me. I wear my hair in a ponytail much of the time, anyway.

2. Well, you have seen my photo
I think I would probably look downright ridiculous in them.

I, too, often wear my hair in a ponytail, so it would be moot. But it does not prevent me wanting them.

x( indeed!

3. Nah, I think you could pull it off.
You have a nice hair color, and I don't think you'd look ridiculous. As I understand it, dread wax and dreadlocks can now be removed without ruining your hair. So, I bet you could give 'em a try. (Naturally, I defer to our resident dreads expert, p1, on these matters.)

4. I couldn't find dreads, but try this if you're considering a change...

It's a virtual-hairstyles thing.

But...FWIW, I saw pics from the meet-up, and think you look great. :)

5. Thank you!
I am bored with how I look. I think that it is mostly being wistful for all the hair I cut off when I got my hair cut 8 months ago.

7. Had 'em down to my ass when I was in my 20's.
I had them cut off after moving to SoCal... too damn hot!!! I'm not sure how people with straight hair keep them in. My hair is naturally kinky and dreads form overnight by themselves! I'll be 39 next month and have been seriously thinking about letting them grow again.

I saw Peggy's pics, you look great. I always wanted straight dark brown hair like yours!

I just took this shot so you could see how kinky I am... not a great hair day here in Indiana...40 mph gusts and snow flurries so, my head was in a hat most of the afternoon.

8. Believe it or not, my hair is really not straight!
It is wavy. I had to use a blow dryer and a round brush to get it to look that straight!

:D

9. Wow...
I used to iron mine and once I even tried a relaxer, but it was way too strong and every last hair on my head broke off about 2" from my skull. I finally gave up and let my curls go wild. I could hide small children in my hair.

The one drawback with dreads is you will need help grooming them to keep the dreads from matting together unless you are very flexible.
