3. They did a matinee, just over two hours long. No Roger Daltrey but

they were incredibly tight and well orchestrated. Very professional performance! The light show was as amazing as the music. I highly recommend seeing them if you haven't!

6. Coolness..
My wife and I have been meaning to see them every year, but things seem to conspire against us..

{guitar-geek mode} (plus, I'm kind of a snob when it comes to TSO.. I want to make sure that when I see them, I see the original members of Savatage, and not the West Coast version, although I think they mix it up and I'm sure Alex Skolnick and Angus Clark kick as much ass as Chris Caffery and Al Pitrelli any way... )

7. We saw Skolnick and Caffery in Richmond and they both kicked ass!
The drummer Jeff Plate was also phenomenal! I'm not familiar with Savatage but I plan to look into them. Thanks!

8. Sweet.. I always liked Skolnick's work with Testament.. a fine, fine guitarist..
here's Savatage's Wiki page:

And one of their better songs:

Also, Jon Oliva (one of the geniuses behind TSO) has a new band "Jon Oliva's Pain"... very epic metal..

11. Thanks, opiate69! Gutter Ballet was great! Is that Jeff Plate and Alex Skolnick in that video?
I was really impressed with Jeff Plate today. I don't know how he plays like that for two hours straight!

12. My pleasure!
And no, that was Caffery and the late, great, Criss Oliva on guitars, Steve Wacholz on drums and Johhny Middleton on bass. As i remember it, Skolnick replaced Oliva after he was killed, and Plate came in a little later.

5. No they didn't have the house, but they did play that music with a synchronized light display.
My wife and I were both amazed at how well everything was coordinated.

10. Yes,non-stop entertainment from start to finish. The story being told was well
delivered without a single missed line by the narrator and the notes all seemd to fall into place. It was a truly magical experience!

14. My brother in law and his wife went to the same show.
They nipped over before going home for some cherry pie and coffee. We also took some pictures for the boys' family.
They said that the show as EXCELLENT. Best they'd ever been to. Glad you enjoyed it.

15. did you stay afterward to meet them?
I've been to two shows and both times, they all came out into the lobby and stayed until everyone got an autograph or talked with them. I talked with the guy that sings "old City Bar," he loved the blue angels jacket i wore and we talked about them for a while, then I chatted with Kinkle about them bringing Beethoven's Last Night to broadway. I have Christmas Eve and Christmas Attic autographed by everyone in the band, at least those doing the east coast tour.
