This will be the first time that a heavy-weight champ has retired holding the belt since Marciano (1950s).

Anyone else thinking what I am thinking? Maybe he is retiring instead of getting his ass stomped by Dr. Vitali Klitschko AGAIN.

I was hoping for an HBO rematch. Looks like Vitali isn't going to get the chance to take the belt from Lewis.

Lewis will announce his decision on BBC tomorrow. Visit the Klitschko brothers' website to read more:

1. hrm...
it's a shame to the fans, but I can't really fault him.

Given the chance, I'd prefer to go out on top, too.

2. I SOOOOOOOOOO wanted to see that rematch!
My first thought when I saw the headline this afternoon was "Coward!"

Yeah, I'm pissed, too.

4. I'm heartbroken, Lewis is my favorite boxer of all time.

This sux cause will never be given the respect he deserves. He will never get to live down the Klitschko fight. He will be asked about it and reminded of it until the day he dies. Man this sux!!!! I wanted a rematch, I wanted to see him fight again.

I am still pissed about the Sugar Shane Mosley decision, De La Hoya was robbed, now this.

6. That's precisely why he should have faced Vitali in the ring again
Everyone expected a rematch. EVERYONE.

Too bad that Lennox would rather leave the sport with that dubious victory on his record than rematch and win an honest victory against Klitschko.

3. oafs R us
I for one could care less about paying $50 to see those two uncordinated oafs stumble around the ring again. The fight was uglier than VK's face. That was the most overrated pieice of crap i have seen in a long time .Without the blood nobody would be talking about it. Lennox could have cared less about that fight and it showed. It's too bad our last memory of him in the ring will be him spewing excuse after dilusional excuse into the microphone and Larry Merchants stands by and watches.

5. Actually, it was free for HBO subscribers.
And it was exactly those excuses that justify my desire to see Klitschko whip him again.

I am not interested in it because of the blood, but because I enjoyed seeing the arrogant Lewis get beat on by a philosophy PhD.

And it is still talked about because when the TKO was announced, Vitali actually had scored higher with all of the judges, and he wanted to stay in.

7. Lennox Lewis is one of the best technique boxers probably ever
He sticks to his formula and very rarely breaks away from it.

8. I saw him deliver the most beautiful combo on Tua
He looked like an eagle flying across the ring. Seeing him beat the crap out of Tyson was right up there too.

9. Riiiiiiiiiiiight
You mean, he's retiring for the first time. He'll be back - I never listen when a boxer says he's "retiring."
