It is from Lake Wobegon Days by Garrison Keillor and it is on the last page or two of the book. It is talking about the character who went out in a blizzard to get cigarettes and then left them on the counter when he left. It talks about wanting something badly and then realizing that you really didn't want it at all. Thanks in advance.
