Tell me about your day and join me for a beverage!
. . . . . .

I was in a pretty grumpy mood this morning as I didn't sleep very well last night but
my day turned out to be pretty decent. We, my son and I met my sister for for lunch at
1 PM and had a wonderful steak dinner. The restaurant was nicely decorated and cheerful
and the food was pretty good! We exchanged gifts and hugs and all that mushy stuff and
then I went to Strawberries and bought myself 2 cd's. :D (The Best of the Doors)

How was your day? :hi:

10. I hope you don't have to revise it again...that would drive me insane!
Hopefully this time will be the last! ;)

I am enjoying the CD! :D I've missed all my albums and my favorite bands and songs. :(

I'm trying to replace them, one by one, since I lost them all.

21. Oh no!
What happened to all your music???

I have worried about this ever since i got an ipod -- it would be SUCH a bummer if something happened to it.

I should back up all my files, now that i think about it... :yoiks:

7. You stayed on deck all day?
Sounds like a plan! If I had a deck, I'd have had to shovel it first! :P

It's still friggin' snowing here and I think raining too.

I actually got stuck in my own driveway, wheels spinning in the slop. Ugh!

I said, screw it!

I parked it finally, after my son pushed the car, and now I'm in for the night.

Hope you had a good time on deck! :hi:

Edited on Thu Dec-20-07 06:32 PM by redqueen
been depressed for days so it wasn't a surprise.

Got some shopping done before work.

Finally decided to open up about what's got me so depressed, and talk to some people (here) and now I am feeling much less depressed.

It's been a pretty good day.

Oh, and glad to hear you had a nice time at lunch and that your grumpiness went away.

I'm just not in the spirit of the season and wish it would all go away.

I usually like the holidays but I'm just not into it this year.

I hope your mood lightens up. You aren't alone.

I was dreading the lunch, actually. She and I haven't been that close

since my Dad died so, I really didn't want to go but I'm glad I did.

Whew! ;)

19. That's really great to hear...
I was very cheerful and enjoying this holiday season more than I have in years... but bad things happened this week, and all of a sudden it feels like the Worst. Christmas. Ever. Nothing like melodrama, huh? :P

So glad you had a nice time after dreading it... that's always such a nice surprise.

14. I am now 2 weeks ahead of my projected schedule
so I'm closing the gap between where my projects should be and where there really are, despite being short handed. :)

And (as already mentioned elsewhere) I hit the 20,000 post milestone today, and a friend got some very good medical news today!

One the down-side, the weather is killing me today. The pains in my back and in my joints are very bad today and I had one weather-induced migrain for about 2 hours. Thankfully, drugs work.

I'm about to take yet another pain-pill and I hope I can get home without too much of a problem. I'm not sure yet if I'm well enough to take the subway, but I'm sick of paying for cabs every day. :(

On the plus side I'd love to toast all the good stuff. One the negative side I really need a drink. But I can't drink, so there you go. :P

20. Well; despite all
your health issues, at least you're ahead on your projects!

That has to feel pretty good! :D

The cold bothers my feet and my back a lot too, especially when it's raining.

But I don't usually take any prescriptions. Just Acetaminophen.

Wish you could at least have some virgin eggnog! How about a soda?

Hope you feel better soon!

I got all festive waiting for the signal to go mad and turned my 6gallon carboy (batch wine bottle) into a Christmas Tree. That killed 5 freakin minutes.. I was goin nuts. Then BAM! I got clearance!

Paid the bills, finished almost all my Christmas shopping, had some quality time with my sweetie, and now am finishing the holiday decorating. All in all, a pretty good day but shopping for four and a half hours is....too much.

On edit: yes, I've joined you for a beverage. A few, in fact.

I agree, 4 hours is a long time to be shopping!

I haven't even started shopping or decorating! :P

We do have a small tree on top of the TV but that's it!

I'll get there. It was just to rainy and snowy and slushy.

Yuck! I didn't want to be out in it and the seat in my car was wet. :(

I'm hoping to get a few things done tomorrow but tonight I'm relaxing,

listening to my new CD and having a few Rum & cokes! :P

I didn't feel like doing much today, but got up and was of service to the family. Handed out Holiday cards to the trashmen, wrangled the young'ins to sign and address cards to wounded soldiers at Walter Reed, took the bus and mailed them, ate, picked up knitting supplies for my stepmother and replaced a light bulb in the refrigerator. Got some incense for myself and my sister, and a toe ring for her as well (was walking and found a couple of shops that I hadn't been in, in the light CA drizzle- nice...)

I'm pretty content today. Hope everyone else is as well.

(I normally don't post about "good deed" stuff, but the "letter to a soldier idea needs kicking. DUer Malta Blue posted it on December 3rd.)

Geez... The otherwise normal family dog just tried to kill a strange cat that had wandered into the yard...wouldn't listen and heel, but luckily the cat got away. Something had to go odd after such a good day...

Thank God it's Thursday, the start of my weekend. Very busy today. Didn't sleep long enough last night and just had a lot of stuff at work to take care of. All told though I feel pretty damn good. Thank god for strong coffee and adrenaline. lol!

36. Today I:
-Woke up around 6:00 a.m. from one of those weird dreams where crazy people try to shoot you and you run through the woods but there's a wall you can't get past, so you hide behind a tree and as the crazy people surround you and you take out a radio, which then turns into a cellphone which tells you the news
-Went to school
-Came home
-Walked the dog
-Took a nap
-Hugged the dog
-Ate Chinese food
-Hugged the dog again
-Did homework
-Walked the dog again
-Came back and went on DU

And now I'm going to bed.
