Best eye care clinics in the US?
Not Lasik or anything like that, but actual eye disease care.

Can anyone recommend (perhaps by personal experience, as a patient or nurse or doctor or other health professional) an excellent eye care clinic in the US? A good friend's wife has some sort of retinal deterioration; she had surgery a decade ago and it helped, but her eyes are failing again and they'd like to seek treatment here. I don't know the specific problem she has.

Mods: I'm not asking for medical advice, but if this violates any DU rules, please lock.

and I heard great things about them. I had parishioners who went to the one in Ames.

11. Twice, I drove parishioners to Ames for cataract treatment
and they both went well. Another had one done someplace in Ft. Dodge, and had real trouble afterwards. Also, all of my parishioners with macular degeneration--three or four--went to Wolfe. Really fine reputation.

12. Yes they have a very good reputation.
I'd go there in a minute if there was one around here.

13. wow - thank you, mycritters2! I'll check them out...
and see if I can get more info on what is exactly wrong with my friend's wife's eyes, and take it from there.

I appreciate this and your earlier response, as well as everyone else's input!
