What's on your Xmas Eve and/or Xmas Day menu?
We'll be at my daughter's house in Sherborn, Mass. Xmas Eve will be seafood: NE Clam Chowder (from Legal Seafoods), Cioppino, Vegetable Tian, Scalloped potatoes, salad, crusty bread, desserts TBA.

I am bringing brunch breads and a variety of my deli's "fatto a mano" cream cheeses for Christmas morning after an early rising so the kids can open their presents. Also, my homemade Minestrone Soup to alleviate any mid day hunger pains. Hubby is supplying champagne for both nights.

What'll be on your table?

5. I'm gonna guess. The top pic looks like empanadas, the bottom
could be stuffed cabbage.

Mmmm!

7. Add some flounder in and you have our Christmas Eve menu!
Christmas day will be at my brother's house, here are some of the things that we'll be having.

Way too much shrimp cocktail
Prime Rib
Twice Baked Potatos
Green Beans
Wild Mushroom Risotto (I'll be making this)
A tossed green salad

There will be more, but that's what I remember

8. xmas eve at my sister Eve.
cabbage rolls. perogies, turkey for the regular fare but always makes some new adventurous dishes like wild rice salads.

Dinner for one set of inlaws at my place:
Prime Rib, (done in my trusty Ronco rotisserie - best thing I ever bought from infomercial tv)
Knorr's Hunter gravy mix (mmm, love that stuff)
Ceasar salad (the dad-in-law loves anchovies),
fresh velvety French bread,
asparagus with some Hollandaise
baked pototoes with sour cream and green onions
and a big of sweet potato as well.

the Dessert is something I've not tried before - saw it on the food channel and tweaking it my way:
buttery/sugary cranberry sauce over fried yellow cake with goat cheese and maybe a bit of whipped cream or melted vanilla ice cream.

Xmas day dinner:
Tempura shrimp
tempura sweet potato (yum!)
stir fry
fried rice and white
and for appetizers or main: cream cheese and lobster in deep fried wontons with sweet chili sauce dip. yum yum.
same dessert as above if it works out, but probably with blueberries instead of cran.

I always get a bit nervous cooking for occassions, but generally it comes out really well. It's the timing of everything that makes me crazy. never did peg that down right. And we live in a small house so it gets a bit too tight and intimate sometimes. ;)
