A moral dilemma

Part of my job involves receiving shipments of equipment, usually computer hardware. Today I received two large boxes, from a company whose name I did not recognize, addressed to someone in another department that I regularly buy equipment for. As there was no PO number or identifying markings on these boxes, I had to open them.

Two cases of cookies, a thank you gift from a vendor. Yummo!
But - the person to whom they are addressed is out on vacation until next Wednesday. If I leave the cookies here, they will either go bad or get eaten.

What to do?
A) Lock up the boxes and deliver on Wednesday.
B) Lock up and deliver one of the boxes, eat the other. (both are marked "case 1 of 1")
C) Open and eat both boxes (why let them go bad?)
D) Leave both boxes in his office and hope no one else eats them.
E) Turn both boxes over to Legal, let them sort it out.

Easy way to answer these questions... ask yourself what you'd like for someone in your place to do if you were the receipient of the gift.
