How do you keep from getting depressed bout today's news?
Edited on Sun Dec-16-07 05:43 PM by Solar Power
This is serious. How do you do it? I have loved being current with the news for 35-40 years. I gave money in the last election, followed everything closely, and we won/ er........lost???...Well we won. And our investigations and what we have found prove it.

But......still, reading the news, well, makes me puke.:puke:
and I love the news here...but oh, I am too sensitive perhaps..the pure arrogance of that crowd, and our seemingly inability to get them..Give them what, what they gave to us. Even coming here, and starting to post, kinda gets me..

Now the people here are great. The ideas are endless, and the fun is also here. But, when I read some of the news, and our reactions to it, well........ok, that is enouf..so what do you do??????? thanks to all who have welcomed me, and any advise that you can give me.
.........................solar/ stu.

3. realizing that there is still a great deal of good in the world
and that evil is eventually vanquished. Maybe not permanently, but eventually.

I think the fact that we so many world problems and horrors described in the news, right away, and over and over - makes it worse.

I try to realiize that there is always bad news going on, all the time, and that I have no control over that. I simply try to do the best I can, and that is what I tell my kid when he is shocked by stuff he sees on the news or on NPR....
