Mac users, help me out. I miss right clicking
Ok so I want to save the file at this link
http://pittsburghdish.typepad.com/pittsburgh_dish/JimmyPsihoulis_SteelersPolka.mp3
Normally, I'd right click and save target. On the Mac I can't do that. How do I save this?

1. Click and hold, then click "Save Link As" from the drop-down menu.

10. Move the mouse over the link, press down until the menu pops out.
Then drag the mouse to "Save Link As."

3. Buy a two-button mouse that is Mac compatible.
That should work.

you can hold the ctrl button while you click, and that functions as a right click.

12. The MS Mouse will give you a right click button
AppleCult's insistence on no right mouse button is infuriating.

15. Did your Mac come with a Mighty Mouse (it has a mini-trackball)?
Edited on Sun Dec-16-07 04:40 PM by Rob H.
If it did, you already have a two-button mouse, but Apple stupidly ships Macs with both left and right mouse buttons configured to behave like a left mouse button. (At least, the Macs bought two years ago by the company I work for came set up that way, iirc.) If you have the Mighty Mouse, just click on System Preferences in the Dock, click Keyboard & Mouse, then click Mouse, and now you should be able to configure the buttons however you like.

I don't know why Apple ships Macs configured that way (or if they still do; see above). It seems that if they want people to switch from Windows to the Mac OS, it should come with left and right mouse buttons configured the PC way by default. It's a not-so-insignificant detail that they seemed to completely ignore.

18. I needed to build up my latte sipping volvo driving yuppie cred
Driving around in an old beater, drinking instant coffee, going to church, and not having money were totally not going over in that milieu. Now I can sit with my computer in the coffee shop and at least fake it a little.

19. Go to System Preferences - Keyboard and mouse.
Left should be primary button, right should be Secondary where the lines are pointing to the top left/right of the mouse display dropdowns.

20. Clicking while holding down the Control key
Edited on Sun Dec-16-07 08:06 PM by rocknation
equals right-clicking if you have a one-button mouse on a Mac. At least, thats how I did it before I got a two-button mouse for my Mac.
