Surprise at the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert yesterday afternoon.
The emcee, lead guitar Chris Caffrey, kept hinting at surprises to come, that nobody should leave until the last note. Later in the show, he repeated this, saying if you left early, you'd regret it the rest of your life. Needless to say, the crowd (at least those who hadn't been to or heard of the Long Island show the previous day/night -- that included me) was buzzing with anticipation and questions.

Finally, toward the end of the second half of the show, producer and creative mind behind the TSO, Paul O'Neill, came out and with a long, cryptic introduction, finally revealed the guest: Roger fuckin Daltrey!

:woohoo:

Daltrey sang a three-song set backed by all of TSO: Behind Blue Eyes, Pinball Wizard, and Tommy. The crowd was going nuts. :D
After much applause and hollering, he strapped on his guitar and joined TSO for their finale number.

I wasn't even supposed to be there; a friend had called two days earlier because she had an extra ticket. Can you imagine this: She'd bought three tickets MONTHS ago, and had FORGOTTEN she had them? We had a ticket for our coats. Some pricey coat rack that was.

So glad I was there. So glad we didn't leave early. :D

His mike juggling isn't what it was, but hey... :D I never got to see The Who live, anyway. (I did see John Entwistle at B.B. King's one time, though.)

2. They are supposed to be in Indy this week
somehow I don't think Mr. Daltrey is going to make the trip. Oh well, wish I could go anyway, but I have my own concert on the same night.

6. My friend and her husband are in the Trans Siberian Orchestra
But the band has two touring lineups, one who tours the eastern part of the country and one for the western part. They are in the western lineup (which means I don't get to see them, being in the east.) Since you mentioned an earlier Long Island show, I'm assuming you saw them in the east.
