What to do? My husband hosted his company Christmas Party last night. It was understood by all that
drivers would be provided and no one was to drive home under any circumstances. One employee who was working the next day said he was sleeping at the office because he was driving the next morning and he has done this in the past. The problem arises when the vehicle he drives is gone at some point in the night. Normally this is OK but on the Company party night all understood that no one was to drive and drivers would be provided. He was supposed to work this morning and did not show up, as well the vehicle he is allowed to take home is missing. My husband is having a fit because this employee is normally on time for work and if not always calls. I said he should call the police and see what they they have to say regarding missing employees or vehicles. This is where it gets confusing if you report a vehicle stolen then you have to go about re registering it and he has been missing less than 24 hours as yet. so he can't file a missing persons report. Mostly he is worried about the employee not the vehicle that can be replaced. We are also supposed to leave for vacation tomorrow but with the weather it looks dubious. Why am I still up worrying about this?
3. There was a security guard present and was instructed to block in anyone trying to drive which they
did at least as long as my husband was their. After he left the instructions were the same but one never knows what may have happened. We are mostly concerned because this employee has always been on time and if not has always called.
4. You can call the police to inquire about accidents
You're worried about an employee who is usually reliable but hasn't been heard from. (That way, not missing, not a stolen vehicle report but if there's been an accident they'll tell you. They might also tell you if he was picked up for DUI)
