A drunk asshole hit my car last night
Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 02:53 PM by proud2Blib
I was pulling into a gas station and this asshole in a blue Taurus was backing away from the pump and bashed into the side of my car! I honked but was too late I guess. Then the Taurus sped away and almost hit another car. This other guy jumped out of his car and had already called 911 before I got out of mine.

So I took down the license plate number and called 911. The dispatcher said I had to come in to a police station and file a report in person, they couldn't send a car to take the report at the scene.

I went into the station and the guy working there said he didn't see the guy hit me but he heard it. He also said the guy who hit me was very drunk. I said how do you know that and he said well he had way too much trouble paying me for his gasoline.

So I called 911 again and reported a drunk driver.

My car isn't too bad but I will probably need a new bumper.

I am thinking I should probably post this guy's tag number so you all can be on the lookout for him. :)

1. to me the scary thing about drinking and driving isn't what it might
Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 02:11 PM by Southpawkicker
do to the driver

but what they might do to others

I heard about a guy who ran over his kid when he was drunk and angry at his wife and took off and didn't look behind him.

The sad thing is that this kind of thing happens every day all day long.

On weekend nights at 2 am, most of the drivers on the road are legally intoxicated.

I don't like to drive late at night for that reason.

edit:

sorry about your car
hope you find the d00d
he should be charged
and i dunno about the tag, where would you post it? Here?

double edit:

at one time I could have easily been that asshole. i say that not to brag, but to say that whoever it was, is probably someone who needs to have some legal intervention....

2. It was only 10:30
Didn't seem that late.

Yes I think I should post that tag number here. Or maybe in my sig line.

Damn I wish I knew someone who could trace the tag number for me. I'd like to call the guy and give him a piece of my mind.

5. Drunk drivers suck
And it's so easy for people to do it because when they get drunk, they lose their sense of perception and honestly think they're okay to drive.

I've seen some scary people on the road who I am sure were drunk. Sorry about your car. :(

7. I'm so sorry! A co-worker of mine got hit over
Thanksgiving by a guy on valium and alcohol. Head on. She's lucky to be alive.
Both legs broken, one ankle broken in 6 places, nose broken. She'll be out of work
for months. :(

I hope they get him and he pays for your car damage!

9. I am glad you are okay.
I was hit head on by a drunk driver driving on the wrong side of the street. Totaled my small car and did serious damage to his pickup. I was fortunate to come away with only a broken wrist and a nasty case of whiplash. The asshole that hit me was fine. It is always the other driver that gets hurt in situations like these. The alcohol in the drunk driver makes the body very relaxed and limber which results in them not getting hurt.

What really pissed me off is that TN does not have an open container law. As long as the driver is not holding the beer etc.. it is legal. But, heaven forbid you by wine in your grocery store or beer on Sunday!

Anyways - just be thankful you are okay.
