Only if Ms. Carey is carrying something. And I would imagine the surgeon washed them in a disinfecting solution before giving them to her. The implants themselves are not inherently biohazardous.

There's legal grey area, but the going policy is usually that they're biohazards and inspected and/or destroyed after removal.

on edit- no doubt, that if a porn star claims ownership and request the return of them, they'd probably comply rather than risk the lawsuit.

Since they're not biohazardous before they're put in. So it would be Ms. Carey's tissue that's the biohazardous part. Which I would think would be pretty easy to clean off with Betadine or something.

22. I used to do forensic work in a lab....

we had a case involving a failed implant screw, and we had to sign off that we knew the specimen was potentially biohazardous.

As with the implants, it's just erring on the side of caution, I guess. Regardless, good on her for donating the proceed to breast cancer research and all... but I can't imagine wanting to own something like that!
