I want to move somewhere where we actually get a winter.

2. Nice
I'll be there in a couple of weeks. I'm already sick of winter, and it hasn't even been very cold yet.

4. You are crazy
We had raining ice here all day Tuesday. Then freezing temps Wednesday. Today it warmed up and icicles were falling like missiles. Tomorrow night it starts snowing and will keep snowing for 12 hours.

Winter sucks.

5. Having exactly two seasons is worse.
Searing heat, usually with terrible humidity, 8 months of the year, and moderate temps the other four months. It's rare when it hits below 40 here.

Besides, cold you can bundle up for, and being cold is good for you. Uncomfortable, but it makes your body burn calories.

6. By all means, go then
Edited on Fri Dec-14-07 07:25 AM by PeterU
If I never have to shovel another driveway in my life again, if I never have to go through another icestorm in my life again, if I never have to scrape off the ice on my windshield again, I'll die a happy man.

Living in Florida and loving the winters.

7. Don't rub it in, now.
Don't pick on Winter, and we won't remind you to seek high ground at certain other times of the year.

8. I know what you mean and I finally moved out of the hell hole
of South Florida where I had lived most of my life. I moved to the Atlanta, GA area. We have the best of weather here. It does get hot in the summertime, but you know that eventually fall will be arriving with cooler weather. Winters are not brutal. Occasionally, we will get some snow, but it doesn't stick around for too long. And springtime is beautiful because everything blossoms, even the trees. When I lived in Miami, the only seasons I knew were summer, summer, summer and summer.

10. winter sucks
right now I have 12 inches of snow on the ground. It will take me 3 hours to clear all the walks and driveway. We have another storm on the way for this weekend and it isn't even officially winter yet. I'm sorry but comparing summer and winter is like comparing apples and oranges. When its too hot the only cost I can see is the power to run the AC or water to fill the pool. In the winter there's the cost of heating your home (right now oil is at $3.09 per gallon), the cost of fuel for snow clearing equipment, the cost of salt/sand to keep people from falling and suing you and the damage to vehicles from idiots who forget how to drive in the snow. Lets not forget the environmental damage from salt runoff. Oh yeah winter is so much fun. :sarcasm:
