9. Music isn't stuck in time

imo.

I wish I could go back in time and see all these great musicians live and get a sense of what life felt like then... what the air smelled like, how it felt to wear all that strange clothing. As is, I guess I'm sort of like a musical tourist, but every era brings its own sensibilties.

I go through phases and like to listen to one kind of music or another. I'm in a place now where I really don't want dissonance - there's enough of that elsewhere.

I really love old blues, too. This link has a bit of a recording by Vera Hall called "Black Woman." the entire cd is great - but her voice just does it. Also Son House singing John the Revelator a cappela. Robert Johnson singing "Stop Breaking Down" and knowing his wife was mentally ill and his blues are part of his life.
