Fave stand-up comics?
I love:

Mitch Hedberg
Steven Wright
Lewis Black
Bill Cosby
Wanda Sykes
Ralph Harris
D.C. Curry
Gary Valentine
Ted Alejandro

Ah, I love even more than that. But these are some of the folks whose schtick I love to repeat over and over with hubby. :)

I got an ant farm. Them fellas didn't grow shit.

I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

Last week I helped my friend stay put. It's a lot easier than helping someone move. I just went over to his house and made sure that he did not start to load shit into a truck.

I got my hair highlighted, because I felt some strands were more important than others.

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.

And Jon Stewart.

11. If we are going on the cuteness of standups
yes, Greg is pretty cute. Mitch looks like my baby bro did when he was still in high school. *lol* And I think Kevin James is quite handsome in a Jackie Gleason kinda way.

But Ralph Harris. He is VERY cute. *g* And Adam Ferrara. *rowr*

I actually am one of those folks who prefer not too many swears in the stand up routines, so the first time I heard Tim after watching him for years on "Home Improvement" I was prety shocked. He was funny, of course, but I was still surprised. :)

44. Some pics... and some quotes:

"You know all that money we spend on the military ever year - trillions of dollars? Instead, if we use this money to feed and clothe the poor of this world, which it would do many times over, then we can explore space, inner and outer, together, as one race."

"A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. Do you think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fuckin' cross? It's kind of like going up to Jackie Onassis with a rifle pendant on."

"And on the seventh day, god stepped back and said "There is my creation, perfect in every way... oh, dammit I left pot all over the place. Now they'll think I want them to smoke it... Now I have to create Republicans."

"Obnoxious , self-righteous, whining little fucks. My biggest fear is that if I quit smoking, I'll become on of you...Don't take that wrong. I have something to tell you non-smokers that I know for a fact that you don't know, and I feel it's my duty to pass on information at all times. Ready?.......Non-smokers die every day...Enjoy your evening. See, I know that you entertain this eternal life fantasy because you've chosen not to smoke, but let me be the 1st to POP that bubble and bring you hurtling back to reality....You're dead too."

"Think of me as Chomsky with dick jokes."

"I'm not a girl, I'm a guy you know? But at the same time, I tell ya how you can solve this abortion issue right now. Ready? Those unwanted babies that single moms leave in alleys and in dumpsters? Leave about 12 of those on the steps of The Supreme Court. This is over. Like that. 'You guys said we had to have them? Then you guys...FUCKING RAISE 'EM. Raise 'em then, you fucking fucking raise 'em. YOU raise 'em. You said I had to have it? Then it's yours. Fuck. It's yours..Take it.'"

I must have been the only American in the audience.

Shaftsbury Theatre, London

I was running sooooo late ... at least 20 minutes ... I was virtually running up Shaftsbury Avenue, but the show didn't start until I sat down ... how cool was that? Must've been because there was an empty seat, front, center aisle in the Dress Circle :) Too bad it was only me, and not someone famous.

I'll have cake, ciao!

I'll add Margaret Cho, too.

23. Bobcat Goldtwaith
Bobcat is an underrated stand up. He's gotten kinda old and sloppy, but he did some anti-Reagan stuff in the 80's that kept me alive.

To wit, about Oliver North wearing his dress greens to the Senate investigations after he had been relieved of his title and position:

"Y'know, I've been fired from a lot of jobs, but you don't see me toolin' around in a Burger King uniform tonight, do you?"

Eddie Izzard, Wanda Sykes, Lewis Black, Dave Attell, Robin Williams, etc. - but there's one that I hear on the (uncensored) XM Comedy channel that I love, although he is quite the RUDEST comic in existence (guaranteed to offend everyone at some point) - Doug Stanhope. His routine about long-distance truckers always gets the truckers frothing at the mouth. It's HUMOR, exaggerated to make a POINT, guys! Besides, it's TRUE!!!
