A stay at home dad/and/or husband, basically a male housewife?

Or I need a husband in my house?

5. Yes! We used to have neighbors like that...
The dad stayed at home with 3 kids while mom worked outside the home, at Comcast. Nice people, but they weren't around that long, they moved... :(

7. I think that THEY wanted to move. I miss them, even though
I have a serious phobia around children. I liked the house dad/husband, he was a great guy. And I miss him, but I think the wife had to move because of her job.

12. Yes. A very sad song.
My life is changing
in so many ways
I don't know who
to trust anymore
There's a shadow running
thru my days
Like a beggar going
from door to door.

I was thinking that
maybe I'd get a maid
Find a place nearby
for her to stay.
Just someone
to keep my house clean,
Fix my meals and go away.

A maid. A man needs a maid.
A maid.

It's hard to make that change
When life and love
turns strange.
And old.

To give a love,
you gotta live a love.
To live a love,
you gotta be "part of"
When will I see you again?

A while ago somewhere
I don't know when
I was watching
a movie with a friend.
I fell in love with the actress.
She was playing a part
that I could understand.

A maid. A man needs a maid.
A maid.

When will I see you again?

I am too tired to google right now...I think it was about Slyvia Plath. Wonder if that was the movie? What year was that movie and when was he married to her. Am I even thinking right?

not people to just show up, take care of their needs, and then go away.

What do you think?

Let's see, I can cook, clean, I love kids, babysit my nephew all the time, oh, and I have a laid back disposition, so don't expect me to get upset over anything, plus I can do...other things as well. ;)

25. From politician to house husband
Edited on Tue Dec-11-07 06:21 AM by socialdemocrat1981

Of course when you retire on a parliamentary pension that gives you a salary that most people would dream of and the ability to benefit from tax-payer funded domestic and international travel each year -plus all the income you've made from your tell-all memoirs, you are no ordinary house husband

27. no way
probably my age showing but i wouldn't tolerate a husband who didn't go out and earn $$$ unless he was of retirement age and had a decent pension or another form of passive income coming in

the women i've known in these kind of relationships, it just didn't have a happy ending for them, they were being exploited -- in one case, it is truly awful because the husband who refused to work was abusing drugs and cheating on the wife with the wife's own money, she has ended in bankruptcy where she used to live an upper middle class lifestyle (actually to me a wealthy lifestyle) -- the only good thing about losing everything to his drug use is that now at least her income is low enough that she won't have to pay this bum a lot of alimony -- this is still ongoing, as the leech is OF COURSE fighting the divorce, he'd love to have a free ride for life on this woman and never mind that she has no hope of a future unless she can get him out of her life

no different from women who want to ride on their looks and take a man's money without earning any of their own, it's an attitude i just can't understand to be honest

if you're a healthy adult, you go out and earn money, you don't pretend cooking and cleaning is a full-time job when the rest of us somehow manage to get it done in our spare time while watching the evening news...

33. actually, I know of several happy house husband/working wife relationships
One has been house husband for 7 years now, and loves it.

Another going on 3 years.

If a couple has small children, and child care expense is a major consideration, then it can make great financial sense to do it. And, one has greater control of the upbringing of the children.

31. our best friend is a house husband
he's also married to my husband's cousin. It's pretty cool. I'm a house wife. But both of us get out a few nights a week and go to work. Mainly to stay sane. I waitress, and our friend is basically a carpenter, plumber, all around handyman. They have 2 boys (1 and 3) and we have 1 girl who is 13 mos.

I get to go to work tonight....yay!!!! adult conversation!!!!!
