About 1:10 in, Foxworthy slams half of the viewers.

2. Oh, geeze, that's as bad as anything on Jay Leno
But she's still rich and famous, because being cute and perky is more highly valued than being smart.

4. Rich and famous? I've never heard of her. Doesn't run in circles I'm likely
to be familiar with; you know, smart people.

What trailer park did she stumble out of by mistake? And can we send her back?

It's giving me a headache just trying to think down to her level... :banghead:

3. That just hurt.
And was really not worth the time it took my husband (who is Dutch and grew up in Europe) to translate it for me. (I can't hear it) Sounds like he's taking a shower. I wonder why.

11. I can't hear. And the woman must have had some
accent because it was almost impossible to read her lips...not to mention that Foxworthy was turned away most of the time.

It was translated from silent posturing to words that I could read. You tube doesn't do closed captioning, unfortunately.

12. Ah, I was a bit confused because you said "sounds like he's taking a shower"

Sometimes we use a saying like "It sounds like ..." without thinking to much about it, that's why I wasn't sure.

Youtube has no closed captioning, but I noticed google sometimes has.

Some documentaries for example have a CC button, like this BBC one
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7495341611852982075&hl=en

Or I noticed that some Archive of American Television Interviews have a CC option
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1628779588980163409

But I think you can't search for videos with closed captioning, that's stupid if people rely on it

13. Yeah, sometimes I still use 'sounds like' or 'I heard'
when it's actually other clues I'm picking up. 'Sounds like he's taking a shower' would have more accurately been 'I can't find him, the bathroom door's closed and I see steam seeping out from under the door, so I guess he's taking a shower'.

10. i'm fairly sure it's a put on
along the lines of how jessica simpson got famous for not knowing if tuna was a fish or a chicken

it's bullshit, deliberate stupidity designed to get attention

ignore it and maybe it'll go away

14. No I have seen this person before..
She is stupid but smart enough to know that her dumb blond from the south image does get her far..Thats how she survived to 6th on American Idol...because people eat up I'm just a little country girl routine. She didn't even know what "Salmon" was before her appearance.
