1. Is it difficult to learn flight simulator?
Edited on Sat Dec-08-07 04:18 PM by ALiberalSailor
It's always something I wanted to do, but never had time. How long did it take you before you became
proficient at it?

2. flight
its easy for me because i have had an interest in aviation for years
my good friend was the chief of the tower here, and he taught me all
there is to know about FAA and ATC
Although I am not a pilot, I know alot about flying and ATC

Its good to start with the 717, and then work your way up to the bigger aircraft
I also fly 767-400 and it is very easy

:hi:

3. So how long did it take you, or how long would it take someone...
...to "get the hang of things" on Flight Simulator. It sounds like fun to me, but again, time has always been an issue.

4. It doesnt take much time but it is addictive
So if you don't have a lot of spare time you'll find yourself ignoring things like eating, sleeping, etc

6. long
not long at all, just practice take offs and landings, then go from there
if you know your airport codes, VOR's, basics of flight, airlines, airports, etc
2weeks or less....:hi:

have the 2004 edition, they have the new edition that i will get soon
you have real world weather, so for example
i flew Juneau-Anchorage 2Nov 2007 and it was snowing in Juneau on that day
it is like my 'virtual' airline, the computer calculates the passengers, the tickets sales
and the expenses, just like the real thing
you have to load the 'traffic' i have loaded most of the airlines in the world, and cargo
also, and you have other airlines planes flying as they would in real life, !!!
:hi:

7. fsx
There is a new flight simulator out, microsoft fsx
i have the 2004 edition
i am geting a bigger and better computer soon, and will have 2
so i will buy the FSX when i get that computer
i am fine with 2004, as i have loaded all the airline traffic i could
from project ai, you install the 'pai' installer, then load all of the airlines
you want as 'traffic'

Boston even has its own 'vatsim' with is virtual air traffic control, you
tie in with other people in the boston area, for a real life atc.

fsx has its own atc tho

once you get microsoft flight simulator go to www.projectopensky.com
and load the 717, that is the easiest to fly
then load the bigger aircraft once you have mastered the 717

beverages not included
:hi:

16. I've barely gotten started with CFS
Got it from the bargain rack at Staples — just the CD. Kinda hard to learn without a flight manual. :(

Now, in the old days — Aces of the Pacific (with the "1946" extension), Aces Over Europe... :headbang:

I still do a sortie in Red Baron 3D once in awhile, but I wanna upgrade my graphics card to make it more realistic.

17. CFS
Its easy, just start at the beginning, in the Wildcat, and then work your way to the
Hellcat and the Corsair, using realistic settings, limited ammo etc...like the real thing.

Its great!! :hi:

21. I fly Flight Sim X
My favorite planes are military jets. Flight Sim X just came out with the Acceleration expansion pack that includes carrier landings and the Reno air races. Lots of fun.
