4. Hi, Peggy.
Portland isn't drowning, but those poor people and cows out west of here sure got it bad.

I hope you're having a dandy day.

5. No, I'm just a looky-loo.
I let the real mefites do all the work, and I just reap the rewards.

3. I wonder if Lisa Robinson will be appalled by this...
or if the years have softened her dislike of Sparks (and Russ in particular)
I think my favorites were: "Cher is more of a man than Russell Mael could ever hope to be" and "For the first time in my life, I wonder what the security guards at a rock concert are thinking"

Me? I always enjoyed them.

6. I always thought they were pretty interesting.
And thanks for bringing up Lisa Robinson's name. Steered me to the Creem archive.

Speaking of all that, it's fun to read about the outrage of Dave Marsh and others surrounding that new hardcover book about Creem.

8. swag, thanks for the tip about the book about Creem...
I didn't even know about its existence.
Creem was one of my favorite things from my misspent youth. In fact, 6 years ago, my dad found in my parents attic two huge boxes of some of my teenage reading material- Creem, Rolling Stone, Rock Scene, High Times, porn, etc...
I ended up selling most of it, but kept the issues of Creem...and the porn

9. You're welcome, mitchum.
I've got a ton of old Rolling Stones and a few issues of Creem, Trouser Press, and even Crawdaddy hanging around at the parents' house to this day. It's my main reading material when I go back to visit them.

Anyway, here's a story about how pissed some of the old purists are about the new book:

Me, I wouldn't mind owning the book a bit.

I'll get to London eventually, and be cool like every single day, when I'm not being traded for cigarettes.
