I hate it when I inadvertently give myself earworms.
I was reading something on the tubes.. read "shooting star" but for some odd reason I thought "falling star"

And now I'm being haunted by Perry Como's ghost!

But I did find this sweet YouTube video

3. I'm sorry
But that is strictly banned, I'll have you know. Don't make me lock in the cage with Elrond Hubbard! :P

2. Put AWAY the earworm!
Put it in your pocket.

Save it for a rainy day.

7. Now, now!
Remember, you gotta aaaaac-cen-tuate the positive, eeeee-lim-i-nate the negative.

And don't let the stars get in your eyes, my melancholy bay-bee.

10. I didn't know
you were anywhere near Elrond.

You're just lucky I can't think of the Perry Como song I was trying to think of — the one that makes Brendan Fraser glop trou in "Blast from the Past." :D

4. Now you've put "Shining Star" into my head.
At least it's not a bad song.

11. Oh, now you've got both?
Muppet songs erase all previous earworms (but install themselves). Use as a last-ditch option.

This, however, is powerful cleansing medication. I use it to remove offensive material, and to remember that all is not Fox News and Britney Spears. Be warned, the weird level is (wonderfully) off the scale.

12. I did it to myself today
Christmas music at work. The same six songs, sung by every artist under the sun. I hear "Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer" about 19 times today, each one by a different artist.

So I got "Walking 'Round in Women's Underwear" in my ear after hearing "Winter Wonderland", and it got so powerful that I can't recall the original lyrics at all. But the parody?

Lacy things -- the wife is missin',
Didn't ask -- her permission,
I'm wearin' her clothes,
Her silk pantyhose,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear.

In the store -- there's a teddy,
Little straps -- like spaghetti,
It holds me so tight,
Like handcuffs at night,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear.

In the office there's a guy named Melvin,
He pretends that I am Murphy Brown.
He'll say, "Are you ready?" I'll say,"Whoa, Man!"
"Let's wait until our wives are out of town!"

Later on, if you wanna,
We can dress -- like Madonna,
Put on some eyeshade,
And join the parade,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear!

Lacy things... missin',
Didn't ask... permission,
Wearin' her clothes,
Her silk pantyhose,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear!
