1. God, I love the tone that Santana gets out of his guitar.
It's the ballsiest guitar sound ever.

Always comes across like a million charging elephants.

And even when he's playing with Clapton, it still rocks.

2. that sound smacks you right up the side of the head.

I was fortunate enough to see Santana and Clapton on the same bill, in K.C., back in 1975. One of my three all-time favorite shows.

4. I really gotta ask, though - what the hell is Clapton wearing?
Edited on Sat Dec-08-07 11:58 PM by Rabrrrrrr
The guy may play the blues, and might jam like a sonogabitch, but that man is the whitest fucking soulless person in rock and roll. Or, I should say, in the realm of serious rock and roll.

But, in his defense, I gotta give him props. I often disparage him, but he is a hell of a player, and compared to the shit that the music industry is giving us today, the guy is brilliant.

Imagine some new young emo rockers playing with Santana, and Santana looks over and points his finger at them for them to take the solo - they'd freak out, and wouldn't have a clue what to do.

These new people, they don't know the roots of their music, and they don't how to just jam.

5. I don't know. He looks like some middle-aged fucker
on vacation in Disneyland. I've always liked Clapton, but I like Carlos a whole lot more. And it would take a guitarist of Clapton's caliber to not be intimidated to trade off solos with him.

6. Santana does absolutely nothing for me
He always seems to be stuck on the same note, his sound is like the audio equivalent of the Barbara Walters soft-focus lens.

:puke:
