Someone burned me a copy of Morning Becomes Eclectic a few weeks ago, and I got the album immediately after.

The band was behind Amy Winehouse on tour and they were miscredited on her album as Dapking Records instead of Daptone Records. They were also behind her on some (all?) of her US tour. I didn't realize until someone burned me a copy of Amy's Glastonbury sets, and when I saw the band something clicked, and I did some research. I was amazed to find they were a lot of the same guys.

The music critic for the local New Times paper wrote a rave for Dap-Dippin' With... when it came out, and it was the best blind buy I've ever made.

I don't remember where. It said that at one time, she was a prison guard (Attica?). I also thought they said that The Dap-Kings either influenced or were used by Amy Winehouse.

that fantastic band.

And, yeah, as soon as I heard them, I recognized some riffs I heard Amy Winehouse use. Winehouse has good taste in sidemen. (if not men...)
