I have one week of classes and finals week left. I have my printmaking portfolio, a philosophy paper about Iraq, 2 article summaries for Economic Development, TA work, and an Econ Dev. final. Then, I have 6 weeks off. Ahhhh.

It even says on the syllabus words to the effect "don't ask me to change the exam date". I've got sixteen credits happening here and that's the only class that has an exam. Pisses me right off. I wouldn't mind if it was the old days, but now that I'm in grad school and I've got a limited social life, what the heck am I gonna do?

Last semester of college in April/May was great. We had two weeks of exams, and I had one on the second day and one on the last. My friends and I spent most of our time, um... celebrating. That seems like a long time ago and a long way away now, 'cause at the moment I don't have much to do with my free time :(

8. For the most part, yeah.

Today was the last day of classes. Of my four classes, I took one final on Wednesday, turned in the paper that was our "final" in my senior seminar class, and will turn in the Spanish paper that counts as our exam sometime next week. The only reason I'm still here at school is that I have my Andean history "simulation" final, which essentially means that we each go around in a circle and talk about what our character would do in a given historical situation.

So, basically, I'm here 'til Thursday. Good news? I have essentially nothing to do for the next week; I can sit around and watch movies. Bad news? Crappy weather, boring college towns, and no friends to hang out with, because they're all studying. :)

One week of classes and then finals.

I have several BigAss papers due and one final exam. I think.

I only get four week off, but I'm taking a lighter course load next semester to accommodate my internship.

I can *almost* breathe.

10. Today was the last day of classes

but instead of participating in "Blowout" (a.k.a. getting-drunk-fest at the end of the semester), I have to:

- Write an 8-page final exam for my Anthropology of Islam class by 1 PM this coming Monday
- Write a 15-page research paper for a medical anthropology class (by like last week, but our prof said we could turn it in anytime before the break and only get one point taken off per day)
- Write another 15-page research paper for my senior seminar by Dec. 14
- Write a 2-4 page (single spaced) final exam for above-mentioned medical anthropology course
- Study for my Arabic final exam (Dec. 14)
- Go to a hall meeting Tuesday night (Dec. 11) to go over procedures for checking out over winter break
- Pack up laundry, sheets, clothes I'll want to wear when I'm home, computer, books, etc.
- Straighten up my side of the room
- Make sure my roommate's side of the room is spotless before she heads out (she's graduating this month, and if her side of the room doesn't live up to ResLife's standards for the new roommate I'll probably be getting next semester, then I get fined.) x(
- Buy any additional Christmas presents that I can't get when I'm at home...
- and probably a bunch more things I can't think of now.
