Last night I ate some pickled beets
and I liked them! LOL No one was more surprised than me. I can only vaguely remember tasting one when I was a kid and never again.

(I just ate a York Peppermint Patty and liked it, too! ;) )

2. Now I'd dying to try
a rutabaga and parsnip recipe someone posted in the Cooking & Baking group and I can't find any! I let all these wonderful root vegetables pass me by and now I can't find them. Even the local farm market doesn't carry them anymore.

3. They rock, do they not?
:D and most people I meet hate beets, but I love them; pickled beets are even better, in my opinion

4. They do rock!
And these were home canned by the mother of one of my husband's co-workers. Very excellent, indeed! :hi:

5. In New Zealand, they put pickled beets in sandwiches and hamburgers
and candied cranberries on brie and chicken pizzas...

8. I don't know how I'd
like them on a sandwich. They're pretty good just the way they are.

I did buy a pastry wrapped brie with cranberries and walnuts today, tho. Can't wait to bake that baby up and eat it! Yum!
