This has been nagging at me for 24 hours and it's really trivial

Last night I noticed, in an NHL summary, that a player was charged with a penalty....for obscene language. I've never noticed one of those before (not that it hasn't happened, I'm sure -- I just haven't noticed it) and I'm trying to imagine what on earth that player might have said.

I hate when things like this stick in my head.

Maybe the player was cussing out the official? Or disparaging the official's parentage? I'd think it would have to be something more than just using obscene language on the ice.

What player and/or team? Maybe I can find a youtube or something?

I was kind of in a rush when I was doing it and it didn't really register until later.

There was another game that caught my attention, too. One penalty in the first. One in the second. One in the third. That was all.

Anyway, I mixed up my old-time PA announcers. I was thinkin' the "TWO minutes!" dude was the Kings' guy in the '60s and '70s, but it was the '76ers guy — the one who also said "WwwwwwwwwwwwwILT!" whenever Chamberlain scored.*

You can't have even a polite conversation in baseball without saying "fuck" 1,872 times. It's in the rules.

Now, "motherfucker" — that's the Magic Word. Say it to an umpire, and you're gone. And ballplayers know it.
