And now, the most annoying character on a TV drama. Mine is
The C- actor Dennis Franz's character Andy Sipowicz on NYPD Blue. Loud, obnoxious bully that wouldn't last 5 minutes on the real mean streets.

1. The sister-in-law on Judging Amy
I forget her name. The blond woman who is married to Amy's brother. At the end of last season they let us think that she had died giving birth but she actually survived. I know this is a HORRIBLE thing to say but I was actually glad when I thought they had killed her off. I was really annoyed to tune in this season and see her face again.

9. Jillian Gray...
And she is annoying...now she has kicked out the brother...what's his name? She kicked him out because she doesn't love him anymore...Well, isn't that nice? And she didn't really like her new son either at first. I can't stand her either. Remember when she was so pushy with Maxine when she was planning her wedding for her? God, I wanted to hit her.

17. I don't watch Judging Amy as regularly as I should...
...but when I do I always enjoy it. However, I can't figure out what the point of this Jillian character is except to annoy the living shit out of us. A few episodes ago Maxine actually told someone that she'd never liked Jillian. This was news to me since I haven't watched the show regularly. I'm dying for Maxine to really rip this woman a new one.

2. I vote for another one of Stephen Bochco's characters - the wife of the
captain on Hillstreet Blues. I've forgotten his and her names.

All she did was whine and whine and whine.

That episode where her house was broken into and the burglar sh*t on her floor was great 'cause if she were a real person I would've loved to have done that.

3. Detective Lennie Briscoe on Law and Order....
Played by Jerry Orbach. He always makes some really cold wisecrack while standing over the corpse at the beginning of the show.

How can you not LOVE Lenny? Maybe my affection for him is because he reminds me of my Dad.

5. Take that back. Lenny is the coolest. And his wisecracks are like lemon
before a meal. They cleanse the TV-viewing palette, so to speak.

18. I think he's great
And I think it's very realistic of the show to have Lenny deal w/ the horror of his job by injecting some humor and/or sarcasm into it. I imagine that people who are in that line of work have to find some way not to let it touch them so....

6. David Caruso as Horatio Cane CSI:Miami
First off, I love the CSI shows, that being said, I HATE Caruso's acting. All his character does is state the absurdly obvious, constantly, and if you notice, Horatio the Character mostly wears his sunglasses when he is inside, and doesn't when he is outside. In his attempt to be cool he comes off looking like a frat boy with a room temperature IQ!

I wrote CBS and gave them a fantastic script in which Horatio is killed by the ghost of his dead brother who caught him in bed with his widow. Never heard back, wonder why? - LOL

7. Another member of the David Caruso non-fan club??
I loathe David Caruso. I cannot abide him. Words fail me in describing my complete and utter disdain for him. I hated him on NYPD, and I refuse to even watch CSI Miami, because of him! He may well be Satan's spawn! ;)

but I thought I was :)

I'm a major CSI fan too, so I'll suffer through CSI-Miami in spite of Mr. Melodrama-Look-At-Me-I'm-So-Kewl. But he doesn't make it easy.

I don't remember her name. She's a scientist who walks around with half her boobs sticking out and speaks in a very high, annoying voice.

12. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Neve Campbell from "Party of Five"
I loved the show with the 2 brothers, but those 2 girls (and later in the season Lacy Chabert) were just the most ANNOYING women on TV. Hewitt's character seemed to have everything going perfect for her and Campbell's character seemed to be sulking all the time.

Made me quit watching the show about a year before it ended

19. Lt. Kira from "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"
Oh God, I still recoil from even recalling her miserable soap opera, overacted existence. By the end, they virtually made her the main character! And had Odo fall in love with her! I am not a Trekkie, just a fan of the GOOD shows, but am still in recovery from that horrendous miserable character that single-handedly ruined "Deep Space Nine."

:puke:

Oh, and every "Wife who thinks she's smarter than her husband, whom she treats like shit while rolling her eyes at his (non-existent) stupidity".

Every annoying "next door neighbor".

Oh yeah, and the always yelling "Parents of the grown-up main characters".

that's why I like King of Queens, Carrie goofs up and has as much larceny in her heart as Doug. They both can get equally annoyed with one another, and equally loving.

22. I have to respectfully disagree
Franz is a very good actor, and Sipowicz is a character for the ages. Among other things, this character has consistenly delineated the difficulties of being a recovering alcoholic. From what I have heard, this character, and his story arc, have been helpful to actual, real live people in recovery. Without being preachy---thanks to very good writing.

TV being helpful. Imagine that.
