How long does it take to get stamps FROM THE FUCKING USPS?
I usually design custom stamps to match my holiday cards (I know, I'm a graphic design geek), but this year I decided to save the cash and the time and just get stamps. When I saw the HIDEOUS holiday offerings the post office had this year, I thought I'd go to the USPS website and order some other, non-holiday stamps. I found some that simply said "Celebrate!" which seemed appropriate and not to ugly and I ordered them.

On November 25th.

It said they would ship in 24 hours.

It's now Dec. 4 and still no stamps. The order simply says "in progress."

I mean, I know it's a busy time of year but when I order STAMPS from the POST OFFICE, I kinda expect to get them pretty quick. They're the post office for cliff's sake. Don't they have shit like that pretty readily available? I'm not ordering anything custom or terribly out of the ordinary. Just stamps.

If this is any indication of how well the post office is running these days, I'm guessing when I finally get my holiday cards in the mail it's going to be next spring before anyone gets them.

1. See, there's your problem right there...
you should go to the regular USPS, not the fucking USPS. The regular one doesn't try to fuck you.

2. I ordered mine last Friday, Nov. 30 and they arrived Monday a.m., Dec. 3
I was really suprised. Some ornaments I ordered from a different website on Friday also arrived by Monday. I'm in the Midwest. Things might be worse for you if you're in the east or west.

4. I'm in Chicago. And everything else that I've ordered for the holidays has come
really, really fast. Except the postage stamps.

Of course, I generally opt for UPS ground for delivery, so that may be why.

3. To be honest - it's Bush fucking up yet another piece of the government
I had sent something out via Express Mail on a Saturday - guaranteed by Monday noon. It was a few states away, and it was important that it get there quickly. The person on the receiving end had promised to contact me as soon as it was received.

Monday afternoon passes, no call. So, I called to make sure they hadn't forgotten to contact me upon receipt. Nope, no express mail package.

So, I log onto the USPS website to track the package - on Sunday, it was mis-sent from Springfield, Mass??? Monday, it was sitting in Lexington, KY.

Tuesday, it's still listed as being in Lexington on Monday. No status available for Tuesday.

Wednesday, it finally gets shipped to the right town, but no arrival.

Finally on Thursday, they get the friggin' package.

I've rarely had any problems with mail until the past few years, and never with Express Mail.

At least I got my $16.95 refunded - but, I'm lucky the receipt said it was guaranteed for Monday, because the post office website that they double-checked to verify said it was not guaranteed until Thursday?????

7. Wanna know what's even worse about this? I just checked my credit card
statement and the USPS had absolutely NO TROUBLE charging me for the order the day I placed it. Most places have the decency to charge you when the items ship. But not the post office. They have their money, what the fuck do they care if I have my stamps?
