5. Wasn't Pat Fitzgerald Named For This?
I thought Ashcroft appointed him when he recused himself from the investigation.

Pat Fitzgerald is an "R" but his reputation in Chicago is beyond reproach. He's a true, "get to the truth" guy. Now, whether he's above intimidation is a different matter. But, his reputation as a corruption fighter and a "clean" prosecutor was very good around here.

3. Don't fret
Two weeks ago, a grand jury began hearing testimony. That in itself is a major development. There will be news eventually. Unlike the Starr investigation, which illegally leaked testimony for political purposes, this one is being handled properly, sans leaks. That doesn't mean nothing is happening.

6. Thanks,
I forgot that part of the story. Grand juries tend to change the atmosphere. Benign or hostile some of the beans get spilled.

One more thing,if there is not an honest outcome here, there will be much trouble for those that deserve it. Of course everyone is innocent now.

8. I talked with Amb Wilson about the investigation
He's very satisfied with the choice of Fitzgerald as special prosecutor. He trusts him to put politics aside and do a thorough job, as a true professional.
