WANT a girlfriend to impress your mates but don't want to share your couch?

Enterprising members of the online auction house eBay had a solution - offering imaginary girlfriend services including sexy e-mail messages, perfumed love letters and photos, but no physical contact.

Despite the popularity of the services, eBay has now banned the listings after discovering some had evolved into "overtly sexual" offerings.

Seems the original concept was flirting with 'overtly sexual' connotations to begin with.
