So, what's been most irritating for you this holiday season?
For me, it's my parents. I spend between 60-80% of my spare time taking care of them. Which sucks, because they are ingrateful about it.

Anyone else?

3. I'm very sorry.
It sucks that they need that kind of care, and it sucks that you need to spend so much time providing it, and it sucks even more that they don't appreciate it. :(

Please be well despite the stress.

4. Thanks, hon. We've been discussing the possibility that they'll need
an actual professional to help at least my mother soon. But so far they are resistant to the idea because, like most seniors, they are struggling to deal with the loss of their independence.

5. I very much understand what that's like.
I'm going through the same experience, but without a child to pile it upon.

I hope they can work through this in a way that is good for all of you.

8. I have no time to even think about the holidays.
My daughter is a high school freshman, but our local school district has apparently decided that they are running a college and piles on the work accordingly. My role is to assist her in seeing that it all gets done. If I had been put through this kind of ringer when I was 14-years-old, I never could have withstood the stress. It's ridiculous.

I see no light at the end of the tunnel. Between my work schedule and devoting each and every night and weekend to tutoring, I can already see that the holidays are about to pass me by.

13. I get more and more "low-tolerance" of everything Xmas as I get older.
When I was a kid, I couldn't get enough of the decorations and songs and all that goes with Xmas. Now, I feel like I'd happily do without anything remotely related to Xmas for the rest of my life. I don't really know how to fight the Scrooge in me. I'm not Christian and I dislike religion, so that doesn't help (not that that's what Xmas is about anymore, anyway). The commercialism is making me want to vomit. Yet, I will get my kids some presents. When they're a little older we'll scale down that part of the holiday more and more. We put up the tree yesterday, and I already want to put away all the decorations -- it just seems like clutter to me.

Bah. Humbug.

We have a group that gets together to help one or two low-income families over the holidays, so that's one good thing. :)
