Hey reporters/writers do you belong to an organization?

Do you belong to any organizations like the IRE? I used to be a CAJ (Canadian Association of Journalists) member but didn't renew my membership because the CAJ seems a bit lazy and useless. I wasn't getting anything for my $100 some od bucks a year excpet for the occasional press release sent to my email account.

4. I don't belong to any org's except

The CT sports journalists association or something like that. I have a membership card but I still haven't paid my dues. I don't like orgs like that

National Association of Science Writers (US). Very good established organization with a great newsletter, web site, and multiple mailing lists. Bright, interesting people.

Periodical Writers Association of Canada (PWAC). Pretty good org, but expensive ($240/yr). Membership ranges from serious professional writers to dilettantes.
