what made them check? for anything. Was there a tip? something they read on 'some intercepted emails on the Dem party server' etc.?

or do they just randomly run test, like Mon:anthrax, Tues:ricin, Wed:botulism, Thurs:madcow, ...seems the details about how they were alerted to this (a letter with powder?) has escaped me, but then i wasn't following the story very closely.
