Jack Welch: $2 Million for 3-pages
From today's Publisher's Lunch:

Proposals on Parade :

Former GE head Jack Welch has been talking about his book-in-progress with girlfriend Suzy Wetlaufer for months now, so I was a little surprised to hear that the proposal for WINNING: The Ultimate Business How-To Book is only three pages. But that's what Crain's NY reports. Bidding, conducted by the Helen Rees Literary Agency, is said to have reached $2 million so far.

2. actually, this is one reason why I stopped writing professionally
Writing anything of substance simply does not pay. The only thing that pays is genere fiction garbage or non-fiction fluff, from my experience.

6. Yep - And WHY are thre so many business books?
Go into a bookstore and you'll see there are more "Business" books than self help books - obviously no one has all the right answer.
